Abstract:
Current dashboards present deterministic, single-value outputs which project a “false certainty.” or too direct outputs. This lacks transparency and confidence. It could potentially lead to suboptimal decision-making, and a persistent risk that health and cultural heritage impacts are underestimated or misinterpreted by city planners.
By integrating high-resolution data from the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) and the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS), we develop uncertainty-aware indicators.
This approach maps high-risk zones in city centers where compounding stressors, such as peak heat events and pollution overlap. The primary goal is to enable uncertainty-aware decision-making for health protection and cultural heritage preservation. With potential to contribute to the understanding and implementation of for example, nature-based solutions, or heritage preservation strategies for wellbeing and health.
